Minneapolis Half Marathon

Thanks for being willing to put us through the torture of a half marathon run in aid of our India project! If it hadn't been for the fact so many people sponsored us we could have decided against it!

Having undertaken quite a few training runs in the US (ok - we'd only been training about 4 weeks!) in temperatures up in the 80's, we decided to run  on Saturday morning rather than the planned Sunday so that we could run in only the high 70's...(82°F when we'd finished which wasnt bad, although there wasn't a cloud in the sky). We ran the half marathon part of the course of the Minneapolis Marathon which consists of running a course around the Lake of the Isles...a beautiful course around a few lakes.

We thought it would be a peaceful and stress-free run, but when we got there there was nowhere to park since there was a 5k and 10k run in progress...we thought about joining that for the free t-shirt, banana and bottle of water! We both finished our half marathon in under 2 hrs/3hrs (guess who did which??!!) and are so grateful for the support we received in sponsorship.

Thanks again!!!

News from Muranpur - A Letter from Shadrach

Dear Martin,

Today I have completed my classes and then we have holidays up until 7th Jan 2010 when my new semester will start. This comes to an end by end of March. Until then I shall be working and I will try for another job in some theological college that would supplement my income.

The village Christmas programmes as follows: -

19th December - Christmas nativity programmed in Sulthanpur - first of its kind . One of our teaches who come from that village has opened her home for Christmas programme. A great opportunity to share Christ with the villagers.

22nd December - Entire Muranpur village with Christmas dinner and nativity programme

23 December - School programme with all the children's parents friends and open for all the villagers to witness the nativity programme

Hope everything will go well this year we do not have enough finance to give gifts to children, but we pray that God will provide some money.

Pray that Gods divine purposes may be fulfilled through our various programmes.

In Christ

Shadrach
