Neerekshe Hospital ProjectVISION STATEMENT: To serve the people who are in need of health care in and around Muranpur, regardless of caste and religion, with particular focus on the needy, deprived and neglected and in doing so to show the love and compassion of Christ.
PLANS FOR THE HOSPITAL
Through members of the IAF and a generous donation, a basement Hospital was built on the Nereekshe site but the building was used only for a short time as the heavy rains brought damage. Dr Luke has told us that the present situation does not permit them to conduct clinics. Various clinics have been run in surrounding villages and at Kalmala from a rented house, 10 kms from Muranpur as a stop gap arrangement. (They have also been to other villages for village clinics in the jeep.) Thankfully, by God’s grace it is going on very well and quite a few patients are benefiting.
A flood defence has just been finished and appeared to hold up against the recent heavy rains. We are also looking to begin the construction of the first floor of the Parish Centre. During this time Dr.Luke will inspect the site to make sure it is suitable to equip and continue his medical care, village visits, etc.

Medical Missionary
We are working on supporting Dr. Luke and 2 nurses. Peter Churms is going out on the 11th of November 2009. He will be there to work on a Medical Sponsorship Agreement with Dr. Luke.
It was agreed unanimously to support Dr Luke for a period of 3 years at a cost of about £10k/year, recognising that we need to ensure we annually raise the finance to cover this.
